The Art of Craftmanship
Every step from design to the finished product is infused with our passion.
The craft of making diamond jewellery is an ancient one which has evolved over thousands of years, arming the true diamond jewellery artisans of today, with the tools and knowledge to enable them to create the most precise cuts, which capture and disperse light, like never before.
Every piece of jewellery we lovingly create embodies our creative flair, as well as a meticulous level of precision, which in combination, distinguishes the work of Robert Cliff Master Jewellers from our peers.
Hand Selecting the Diamonds
We hand pick each diamond for every design to make sure we get the purest and most suitable stones available. We only source the highest quality GIA certified diamonds and we don’t source them from any country which sells blood diamonds or which engages in inhumane practices.
Once Robert has approved the quality of the diamonds, they are passed on to the jewellery team and the magic begins.
Handcrafting the Body of the Design
The jeweller gets to work on the body of our design, melting the gold down into an ingot/bar of gold. Once the bar is ready, he/she then shapes it into the specific measurements needed for the design; rolling, pulling, and pounding to ready it, for the setting of the diamonds.
Setting the Diamonds
Once the body of the ring is made, it is ready for the final stage. Our master diamond setter takes each diamond selected and allocated for the ring and commences to carefully set each stone.
It’s a very time consuming process that requires extreme precision as we want each diamond to be perfectly set, so the ring allows the most light possible to reach the diamond, whilst remaining securely set of course!
Once the diamonds have been set, the ring is polished and cleaned for rhodium plating, if necessary.
When the piece of jewellery is ready, Robert inspects every element to ensure it is immaculate, before we add it to the showroom.
Robert says there is nothing more fulfilling than having an idea, sketching it, and then bringing the product to life by hand. That passion is present in every piece we make.
